This Man’s Heart
This Man’s Heart beats quietly.
A wild mustang wrangled into colorless submission.
White ash long since parched of its flame.
Still water, removed from the fury of the river.
Light the match.
Strike the flint.
Bust the dam.
How can a man rekindle that which he once was?
A stouthearted lion confidently enthroned .
Roaring flames yet unquenched by rain.
Torrential falls, bursting with strength and life.
These are the things my heart longs to be.
